Competitive Smash and the importance of going out of region

Heading out of region is one of the best ways to expand your eSports metagame. Getting to experience another city’s style of play is integral to your growth experience. I got together with some buddy’s and we decided to check out the King of Queen’s tournament which took place on Queen’s University campus in Kingston, Ontario.

This is the third episode of my look at competitive Smash Bros in Ottawa which focuses on my friend, the Danimal, and his quest to raise himself up from casual to competitive Smash player. There was a heavy Ottawa presence at the tournament so I asked their thoughts on going out of region and I also learned about the Kingston scene from the organizers.

It was a good time for all.

Except for Danimal.
